Looking forward to the Cork Midsummer Festival in June
May 2026
Looking ahead to the Cork performances on 21 June 2026.

After the public premiere at The MAC, Belfast in March, Fingerprints returns this summer for two performances at Triskel Arts Centre, Cork, as part of Cork Midsummer Festival on Sunday 21 June 2026.
It is the same project — fully improvised, music and drawing and movement responding to one another in real time — but it arrives in a new room, with a new collaborator, and with the experiences of the first public performances behind it.
The Cork performances are a development of the work shown in Belfast. For the background to that premiere and how the piece took shape on stage, see Fingerprints premiere at The MAC, Belfast.
A dancer joins the ensemble
For Cork we are joined by Davide Marinelli, who brings dance and movement into the live system for the first time. Until now, Fingerprints has worked at the meeting point of sound, drawing and the musicians’ own movement through the space. Adding a dancer opens a new line of conversation inside the piece: another body in the room making decisions in real time, another source of motion for the visuals to register and respond to, and another presence for the musicians and audience to listen to.
Nothing is fixed in advance, so what happens between the dancer, the players and the projection will be discovered live, in front of the audience.
A different room
Triskel Arts Centre is a very different space from The MAC’s theatre. The room invites a more mobile, dynamic kind of performance — for the musicians moving among the audience with their instruments, for the dancer working through the space, and for the projection that registers what is happening in the room. We are looking forward to seeing what the piece becomes when it has somewhere new to inhabit.
