Looking forward to the Cork Midsummer Festival in June

After the premiere at The MAC, Belfast in March, Fingerprints returns this summer for two performances at Triskel Arts Centre, Cork, as part of Cork Midsummer Festival on Sunday 21 June 2026.

It’s the same piece, fully improvised, with music, drawing and movement responding to each other in real time. This time it’s in a new room, with a new collaborator, and with the first public performances behind us.

A dancer joins the ensemble

For Cork we’re joined by Davide Marinelli, the first dancer in the ensemble. Until now the drawing has responded to the sound and to the musicians moving around the space. A dancer adds another person making decisions in real time, for the visuals to respond to and for the musicians to play off.

Nothing is fixed in advance, so we’ll find out what happens between the dancer, the players and the projection live, in front of the audience.

A different room

Triskel Arts Centre is a very different space from The MAC’s theatre: a converted church, where the musicians can move among the audience and the dancer can work through the whole room. We’re looking forward to seeing how the piece changes there.

• Matinee — 2pm
• Evening — 7pm
